| HELLO!
I'm so sorry it's been such a long time. As soon as I went more than a
day or two, I was overwhelmed with so much happening and didn't know
what to write about. There's so much to say!
I guess I'll start with telling you about yesterday, and then ramble from there. (-:
Our staff is leaving today (Thursday), so yesterday (.... Wednesday),
we kinda had a last celegration type of thing. After our project and
prayer time, we all wet to Beaches & Cream, which is an ice cream
shop on the boardwalk. Some people got the Kitchen Sink, which is eight
scoops of ice cream, brownies, all the toppings in the ice cream shop
[cherries, sprinkles, chocolate, fudge, gummies...] and an entire can
of whipped cream. Wow! It was really good though. Groups of like 5-8
would all share a Kitchen Sink. I had a root beer float which is one of
my favorites.
After all that, we went out to a restuarant in "semi-semi-formal"
clothes. Girls had to wear dresses or skirts, guys had to wear dress
shirts and a tie. It was fun seeing everyone kinda dressed up and
having a good time. The restuarant was neat; it was called Dixie
Crossroads and it had five entrees to choose from. Everything else was
already set. It came with corn fritters, a salad, baked potato, and a
drink. It was fun, and we got lots of pictures.
Speaking of pictures, I know I don't have pictures up yet... I was just
going to grab pics off peoples' facebook accounts but I feel like I
should ask them first to make sure they don't mind. So, it'll take me a
little longer to get some pictures. For those of you who have facebook,
check out the pictures of me by going to my profile!
Anyway. To end the day, we all went to Cocoa beach. It was dark
already, and that was really cool actually. I swam for a long time and
had lotsa fun. I almost lost my glasses... but I didn't. (-: The waves
were capping over some of the time, but not all the time, so it was
just right. And the water was warm... it was lovely. I hate seaweed
though.. freaks me out when it touches me underwater. Ah well.
Overall, this trip has definately been awesome for me. I feel like it's
a very healthy and good environment to grow in and I love it. I'm
making some really good friends, especially some of my roommates. I
feel like I can talk with these girls about anything. The guys are all
fun, too.
Wow, I really don't know what to write. (-: I like my job; I work at
the Bakery and Cone Shops on Main Street in Magic Kingdom. I might
scoop, or fill, or stock, or greet, depending what they ask me to do. I
am always so dirty by the time I get home! One time I found a smudge of
hot fudge in my hair the next morning... I like most of my coworkers,
too. Sometimes the guests are kinda grumpy and I get yelled at, which
makes me really upset. But most of the time they aren't too bad and can
be effectively disarmed with a smile and helpful comments. I'm learning
little ways I can spike their complaints before it even gets out to
make everything go smoothly for everyone.
I better go make some hamburger helper for me and my roomies. (-: If
you have questions, let me know so I can answer them. (-: Love you all!

| Hello everyone (-:
I just woke up, because we had a fire alarm go off. It only lasted for
a bit and then went back off, so I don't know what happened. (-: Man
that's loud though.
Ah. They were testing them. (-: Okay.
I had my first day of training on Saturday, and my next time I go in is
Tuesday. After that I'm pretty sure I'll have on location training and
regular hours. The first day was pretty boring; keep food between
certain temperatures, change gloves and work surfaces between PHFs and
other foods, take the temperature of questionable food, use the A fire
extinguisher for things that turn to ashes like wood, us the BC for
things that go boom like gasoline, use the ABC for things that have
current like an electrical fire. IMportant stuff but boring (-: So I
think Tuesday will be more interesting.
I'm getting alon pretty well with everyone here; actually I think
everybody pretty much gets along. My roomies are all cool. One of them
is a little more difficult for me to live with, but that's really just
because she comes from another culture entirely and what's offensive or
annoying to me is normal to her, and vice versa. But we're starting to
compromise and talk about things that bug us so all of us know where
the others are coming from so that's going to be okay. The other two, I
couldn't possibly get along better with and Valerie is quickly becoming
my best friend here which is really nice. I feel like I have
people hang out with and talk to and everything.
We get 50% off Papa Johns pizza because we are Disney cast members, and
we can get a Cici's all you can eat pizza buffet for $2.99. I'm happy.
Oh, and we get in the parks free. (-:
I went on my first ever witnessing thing last week. I got to go with
Nick Keswani, who has done this before, so that was nice. It was pretty
cool actually. We just went to a group of three teenage guys and
started asking them questions about what they think about life and
death and God/gods and telling them what we think. It was cool talking
to them. When we get to work, we'll be able to start making new friends
there and building relationships. We actually have all these great
ideas for clubs we want to start and invite people to. I want to do a
drama club! That and a cooking club.
This fire alarm testing is getting a little annoying and ear piercing.
(-: I'm going to run off to the pool for a little bit. Let me know if
you have any questions or comments; I'd love to hear! I love you all.

| I'm here at the hotel with my four roomies, watching TV because we
can't make the DVD player work. (-: My roomies are Lucy, Valerie, and
Ye (pronounced somewhere between yay and yeah). So far we all get along
great! They're all different and very neat.
We had a great time running around Disney tonight. They set up a fun
scavenger hunt for us all to do, to get us to know wach other and
Disney a little better. It was cool, because turns out Disney World is
/huge/. There's whole roads that look just like a normal state road
that are private property owned by Disney. Wow (-:
We don't know what we'll be doing until processing day on the 28th
(Monday). So no, I don't know where I'll work, what I'll do, or what my
costume is yet! (-: I will tell you as soon as I know. I'll try to get
some pictures too.
It's /so/ humid here....... it's like a mouthful of water every time I
walk outside. And it already "rained" (sorta) twice. Oh well..
I love all the people here. And somehow, it turns out that not counting
the garage sale, I am $30 short of $2,300, and with the garage sale I'm
$30 short of $3,000! I didn't think I had that much. Thank you all sooo
much. And I have to say, I'm terribly sorry I haven't gotten the
thankyou notes out yet. I brought them with me, so you're going to get
notes from Florida! (-: I very much appreciate all the help I've
gotten. The help in time and other resources puts me well above the
$3,000 mark I'm sure.
Jenny is trying to make the DVD player work but I'm not sure how well
it's going. We get lotsa snow....... Stripey snow, blurry snow, moving
snow, snow with sound even, but not the right picture.
I think I'm going to lay down for a bit now. Thanks for reading! Love to all and to all a good night. (-:

| It's now about 2:45. I just finished cleaning my fish tank, and I
already did the snakes' and frog's cages. I'm technically done packing,
but it seems like I'm forgetting so many things.... being scatter
brained can be interesting. In a stressfull sort of way.
Oh, did I mention we're leaving at 4:15? I still have an hour and a
half... I want to run around and double check things and then take a
quick nap. I know I have all the /really/ important stuff (support
checks, identification stuff, phone, magic bullet, 21 little packets of
spices....) so I shouldn't stress, really. I just don't want to leave
mom with a mess to clean up and it seems like there's so much to do
still!
You all would be interested to know that when I count the money I made
at the garage sale ($699.87!!!), I have met my required support amount!
Wow. Thank you all so much for your generosity!
I'm going to be so tired when I get to Orlando. I hope I can sleep on the plane.
I've never done anything like this before. I'm nervous and excited and
hopeful and curious and... tired. I better get going so I can at least
get a catnap in before I leave.
Thank you all for everything, please continue in your prayers as I
travel in the next couple days, and meet the people I'll be spending
the summer with.
Oh, in case you don't know, I'm arriving tomorrow (May 23rd) around
3:30 in Orlando, getting picked up by a good friend of mine who lives
in Tampa (her mom offered to drive all that way, isn't that sweet?),
spending the night, and then returning to Orlando to the extended stay
hotel between 3:00 and 4:00. I'll have my cell phone on me, same number
as always (let me know if you don't have it and would like it), so if
you want/need to call me you should be able to reach me there. I also
know my address but I'll find it for you all within the next couple of
days and send it out. On Xanga I won't post it though; e-mail or
message me for it since this is a public site. People on the e-mail
loop will receive the adress.
Alright, gotta go. 'night!
.... Good morning!
